What does a course include?
Info session by a certified TM teacher (1 hour). These are free and take place live in-person or online. Alternatively, you can watch a 19-minute video introduction online.
After the information session you have a personal chat with a certified TM teacher, which can be done virtually, and make arrangements to learn Transcendental Meditation.
Course of instruction is over 4 consecutive days:
Day 1: individual in-person instruction (1 hour)
Days 2,3,4: either in-person or through our TM App (2 hours each).
These sessions provide experience and understanding of the practice so that you continue to enjoy maximum benefit.
How is it different?
Unlike other forms of meditation, Transcendental Meditation involves no concentration, no control of the mind, no contemplation, no monitoring of thoughts. Anyone can do it, even children.
TM is the absence of effort. You can practise it anywhere – even in a train or on a plane – just sitting in whatever way is most comfortable, with eyes closed.
TM Community app
The TM Community app runs on your smartphone and provides you with a rich ‘Library’ of videos on various aspects of TM and the development of consciousness to support and enhance your practice. The app is constantly updated and helps you gain fresh insights whenever you want. It will also list local and national events and courses, among other features.
How much does it cost?
The Trustees of Maharishi Foundation, the charity that teaches TM in the UK, have developed a scale of fees based on gross income in order to make TM™ available to as many people as possible. It is also possible to benefit from a range of scholarships that we have for different areas as well as a deferred payment scheme for those who require this help.
If you have any questions about the appropriate fee for you, your teacher will be happy to discuss this with you.
